Peacock Inspired nails

Hello there!!! This is my entry for my first ever nail art contest. I came across this very interesting contest at kelsiesnailfiles.com. I have a very little time as the contest closes in 5 hours. I have to choose an inspirational picture from the set of pictures on Kelsie's nail inspiration pinterest board and create a nail art inspired by the same.  Hmm..its mid night here..but I really want to enter this amazing contest. So I chose this lovely picture as my inspiration from Kelsie's nail inspiration pinterest board.

I did not want to draw the feathers. I wanted to make it easy but use all the colors. I used sponging technique to use all the colors of the peacock feathers in the above picture and here is the outcome.

18 Karat gold leaf nails

Here is today's design. I have been coming across almost everywhere, the 18 Karat gold nail polish. I love the gold leafy look but the price is very high. I tried to get the same look in a cheaper way, using gold graffiti or crackled nail polish and here is the outcome. Hope you like it!!

Let's begin!!!!

1. Apply a base coat and two coats of red nail paint and let it dry completely.
2. Now using a toothpick, create three hearts vertically as in the picture. Here I used silver polish for the middle heart and white polish for the other two hearts.
3. Using a toothpick and white nail polish, create a diamond, joining the two white hearts.
4. Then using silver polish, draw an 'X' as in picture so that the silver heart is in the middle of the 'X'.
5. Now to highlight the hearts, outline them with a black nail art pen. You can also use a toothpick and black nail polish for this.
6. Finally apply a top coat and you are done:)!!! Don't forget to join this site and leave your comments:)!!!
